Sherin Guirguis, the featured artist of the FOCA 2018 Curators Award exhibition and catalog, has a solo exhibition opening soon at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. Continuing with her exploration of Egyptian feminist Doria Shafik, Sherin Guirguis’s new exhibition, Sherin Guirguis: Here I have Returned, explores the artist’s longtime interest in delving into lost histories. This exhibition will feature the artist’s hand-cut works on paper and sculpture many of which reference her interest in craft and architecture. The exhibition will be on view October 3, 2019 – March 1, 2020.
Sherin Guirguis: Of Thorns and Love, was the FOCA 2018 Curators Award sponsored exhibition and catalog at the Craft & Folk Art Museum, September 30, 2018 – January 6, 2019, in Los Angeles.
