Tom Knechtel, 2002 Curators Award Artist at CB1 and Marc Selwyn

Fellows Curators Award artist Tom Knechtel’s exhibition The Reader of His Own Self will open at CB1 Saturday September 10 and run through October 30, 2016.

The exhibition is a survey of the artist’s graphic works and related drawings, 1979 – 2016

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 10, 3-6 p.m.
Gallery hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 4:00 p.m.

The CB1 show is a retrospective of prints and drawings by Tom Knechtel from the last 35 years. The exhibition is presented in cooperation with Marc Selwyn Fine Art and includes prints and drawings from 1979 – 2016, as well as two new etchings published by CB1 Gallery.

Fellows of Contemporary Art organized Knechtel’s On Wanting to Grow Horns: The Little Theater of Tom Knechtel. Anne Ayers curated the show at the Ben Maltz Gallery, Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles. The show ran from November 9, 2002 – February 15, 2003.

The 4-color lithograph The Hanuman Yantra, (2001) that Knechtel made as a multiple for the Fellows show will be available for sale during the current exhibition along with copies of the catalogue. Partial proceeds of the lithograph sales and all catalogue sales will go to Fellows of Contemporary Art.
